The distance to Alona beach from the resort we stayed at (Alonaland Resort) takes 5 mins by habal-habal or tricycle. But if one doesn’t mind walking like me and the boyfie, it’s just 10 minutes. You get to check out establishments like stores, bars, hotels that you will pass by plus exercise!
I didn’t have any expectations for Alona Beach at all but when I met her boy I was amazed! The sand is super fine and powdery…. The beach strip is short. There were no litters. No annoying beggars and vendors. Though there were some boats docked near the shoreline, most were visible at the farthest right side of the beach.
We headed to our resort to get sleep after our tiring encounter with the dolphins and island hopping at Virgin Island and Balicasag Island and at night, we drank at a bar that offers one bucket of 6 beers for only ₱250! Cheapest compared to other bars here. 🙂 (the bar right in front of Buzz Cafe where you sit on bean bags)
We really enjoyed the night with friends. It was relaxing, ice creams at Buzz Cafe was sooooooo mouthwatering, delicious and one-of-a-kind! So sulit at ₱80!
- If you plan to drink, check for “Happy Hour” schedules of bars, beers/drinks are cheaper.
- To save on food, there is a small and clean carinderia at the back of Henann Resort, alongside Alonaland Resort that sells viands for as low as ₱30, softdrinks at ₱10.
- Habal-habal only costs ₱10 per person from Alonaland Resort to Alona beach, make sure to ask the driver first because if he says it’s more than ₱10, then look for another one. (I’ve also read that ₱10 could take you from Panglao Town Proper to Alona beach)
